OROPHIL SHIPMANAGEMENT CORPORATION is a new sistership company of Orophil Shipping International Co. Inc. Was established on March 26,2010, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and authorized by the Maritime Industries Authority (MARINA), under DSO 186-09 (2010) to do business in Shipmanagement and DSO -2006-003-016 (2010) in Domestic Shipping Business. The Company is also a maintaining it’s PTO (Permit To Operate) to the Philippine Ports Authority as a Shipping Agent. In order to engage in the recruitment of domestic seafarers acquired an accreditation to the Department of Labor and Employment number Department Order no. 18-02 Series of 2002.
Its mother company the Orophil Shipping Intl. Co. Inc. was established on November 22, 1980. It is a duly licensed manning agency in the Philippines, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and authorized by the Philippine Overseas Employment Authority (POEA) and the Maritime Industries Authority (MARINA), to hire Filipino Seafarers for overseas employment.
Currently, it is manning a growing number of bulk
carrier, log, general cargo, car, container, and reefer ships, product
tankers, and panamas and cape size particularly. These vessels are
provided only with medically fit and qualified Filipino seafarers, properly
certificated in accordance with STCW 95 requirements. Orophil, takes pride
in producing its own breed of maritime graduates handpicked and educated by
its sister company, the Visayan Maritime Academy Global College. The Visayan
Maritime Academy-Training Center (VMA-TC) provides for the training of VMA
graduates, OSICI crew and trainees from the various sectors of the Maritimes
Industry, working hand in hand with the government assisted programs in
enhancing the standards of maritime professionals, to this very competitive
shipping industry. Both VMA and its Training Center have fully compiled with
the provision on maritime education and maritime training as per standards
and guidelines of the Commission on Higher Education and International
Maritime Organization and Standard Training Certification Watch keeping
(IMO-STCW ’95).
Now, it steps forward in its expansion to ship management services in serving more of its challenges in the shipping industry. The Orophil Shipmanagement Corporation was founded to purposely function on above and fully equipped and supported by the group of its technical personnel that are all experienced Master Mariners and Chief Engineers in managing of vessels of different types and foreign administered. Our managements comes to ensure that the vessels are safe, and runs at a cost efficient manner without treat to the environment and are always in compliance to the national and international rules and regulations. The company had acquired an IMO listed number with Lloyd’s Register- Fairplay as an International Shipmanagement Company No. IMO # 5203263 that can perform as shipmanagers to both local and international ship owners. There are more than enough experienced maritime professionals employed to undertake the full management of the vessels so they can operate effectively and efficiently for the benefits of shipowners.
